Title: Applications Engineer - Switchgear

Location: Marietta, Ohio

Salary: $110,000 – $140,000 annually

Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire

We specialize in designing and manufacturing mission-critical electrical infrastructure for the data center industry. Our team operates with a strong sense of urgency, maintains high standards for quality, and values accountability at every level. We are currently looking for a Switchgear Sales Engineer who excels in both technical expertise and commercial execution.

Position Overview

The Switchgear Sales Engineer is responsible for developing both technical solutions and commercial proposals for low-voltage switchgear and power distribution systems. This role involves creating elevations, reviewing and interpreting one-line diagrams, specifying breakers and control components, and supporting quoting activities with accuracy and efficiency.

This is a customer-facing position that requires excellent communication skills, strong business awareness, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review customer specifications, one-line diagrams, and related project documentation
• Develop switchgear elevations and layout drawings for proposals and submittals
• Support and manage quoting opportunities
• Size and specify key electrical components
• Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates and quotations
• Work closely with internal engineering teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability
• Participate in customer discussions to clarify scope, address technical questions, and confirm requirements
• Contribute to value engineering initiatives to improve cost efficiency and system performance
• Maintain responsiveness and a sense of urgency in a fast-paced quoting environment
• Travel occasionally for customer meetings, project reviews, and strategic discussions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 3–8+ years of experience in low-voltage switchgear, power distribution, or similar electrical infrastructure
• Strong ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams and electrical schematics
• Experience specifying breakers (e.g., ABB, Schneider, Eaton, Siemens) and control systems
• Familiarity with UL standards and data center applications is preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software
• Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance technical precision and competitiveness
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
