The Impact You’ll Make

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our team of backend and DevOps experts. In this role, you will design and implement scalable, resilient backend services that power products used by millions of users. You’ll tackle complex engineering challenges, from extracting services from a monolith to designing robust APIs and data migrations, while ensuring performance, stability, and maintainability.

What You’ll Own & Drive

• Engineering Excellence & Scalability – Architect and implement backend systems that are robust, scalable, and capable of supporting millions of active users. Ensure high availability and reliability through thoughtful system design.
• Service Development Lifecycle – Build and maintain services from initial model design to production support. Contribute across all phases, including prototyping, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Code Quality & Best Practices – Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards and mentor peers on engineering best practices.
• Complex Problem-Solving – Tackle challenging engineering problems such as decomposing monolithic applications into microservices, managing large-scale data migrations, and optimizing system performance.
• Observability & Resilience – Implement logging, monitoring, and tracing practices to ensure system health and reliability. Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks.
• Cross-Team Collaboration – Work closely with DevOps, product managers, and other engineers to ensure smooth integrations and high-quality deliverables. Align engineering solutions with business needs and operational goals.

• Technical Mastery – Deep knowledge of Java/Kotlin and the Spring framework ecosystem, with proven expertise in backend architectures.
• Database Expertise – Strong understanding of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis, with the ability to design schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data consistency.
• API Design Proficiency – Experience in designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs with a focus on clarity, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Analytical Mindset – Skilled at breaking down complex systems and applying logical, systematic approaches to engineering problems.
• Quality-Driven Approach – Commitment to writing high-quality, maintainable code with comprehensive test coverage.
• Adaptability & Growth – Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Willing to take ownership of difficult problems and continuously grow technical expertise.
• Collaborative Spirit – Strong communication and teamwork skills, enabling seamless collaboration across engineering and DevOps teams.

Your Background

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in Java/Kotlin and the Spring framework ecosystem
• Experience with observability tools (logging, monitoring, tracing)
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis
• Hands-on experience in domain modeling and REST API design
• Track record of delivering scalable and maintainable systems

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS cloud services
• Hands-on work with Kubernetes for orchestration
• Familiarity with Kafka for messaging and event-driven architectures
• Exposure to machine learning–centric systems
