🚀 We’re Hiring: Backend Software Engineer (Java)

🌍 Location: Hybrid — Kraków, Poland

We are looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join a team developing modern, enterprise-scale digital solutions for an international financial services company. You will be responsible for building and maintaining backend applications, designing scalable APIs and microservices, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering reliable, secure, and high-performing systems.

⚠️ Important: Candidates must be based in Poland and able to work in a hybrid format from Kraków.

💰 Rate: $4,600–5,100 gross

Backend Development: Java 8/11/17+

📋 What You’ll Be Doing

Developing, enhancing, and maintaining backend applications using Java and Spring Boot

Designing, building, and supporting:

• REST APIs

• Microservices

• Enterprise backend services

Collaborating closely with:

• Product Owners

• Solution Architects

• Software Engineers

• QA Teams

Delivering new product features and technical enhancements

Designing reliable, secure, and high-performance backend systems

Participating in:

• Agile ceremonies

• Technical discussions

• Architecture reviews

• Sprint planning and refinement sessions

Contributing to CI/CD-based software delivery processes

Ensuring code quality through:

• Code reviews

• Automated testing

• Best development practices

• Continuous improvement initiatives

Supporting production environments and troubleshooting application issues when required

Driving improvements in:

• Development standards

• Engineering practices

• Tooling and automation

• Overall code quality

🎯 What We’re Looking For

6+ years of commercial experience in backend software development

Strong hands-on experience with:

• Java (8, 11, 17+)

• Spring Framework

• Spring Boot

Practical experience building:

• RESTful services

• Microservices-based applications

Strong knowledge of:

• SQL

• PostgreSQL

• Oracle Databases

Experience working with:

• Git

• CI/CD pipelines

• Maven or Gradle

Solid understanding of:

• Agile methodologies

• DevOps practices

• Software development lifecycle

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Fluent English

Experience working with:

• AWS

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Microsoft Azure

Knowledge of:

• Docker

• Kubernetes

Experience with messaging and event-driven systems:

• Kafka

• MQ
