Affinitiv is looking for a Copy Writer Intern with an understanding of basic copy writing principles and a strong desire to learn. The Copy Writer Intern is responsible for providing assistance to the copy team with creative campaigns. The Copy Writer Intern will report to the Copy Manager.

The internship program offers hands-on experience in the copy department of a full service (traditional and digital) advertising agency. This internship is for outgoing, hardworking individuals who want to pursue a career in advertising. After completion, the intern will have an understanding of basic copyprinciples, script writing, E-blasts and an understanding of automotive brand-voice as well as how to execute a campaign across multiple channels.  

Professional skills developed through the 9-week program:

• Ability to manage time and schedule.

• Ability to develop relationships and confidence with facing retailers, field, and corporate team members.

• Capacity to handle numerous tasks and objectives from multiple stakeholders.

• Understand the needs of the client and organization; deliver results based on objectives.

• Sharpen your presentation skills by delivering an end of program presentation to your team on your project work, results, and key-take-aways of your internship experience.

• Meet with Affinitiv Executive Leadership every week for open Q & A sessions for professional coaching and career advice.

Essential Functions of a Copy Writer Intern:

• Write clear and concise copy across multiple advertising campaigns.

• Engage in clear communication and manage the following (teams, emails, tasks, etc).

• Contribute to brainstorming sessions, pitch meetings, rebranding initiatives etc. .

Qualifications:

• Matriculated student, GPA 3.0 or higher preferred

• Currently enrolled in a Writing or related degree or certification

• Rising Junior or Senior

• No work experience necessary

• Experience working with the following software:

o Light experience working with the latest version of Microsoft Suite Products.

o Proficient in Microsoft Word.

• Think creatively and write engaging advertising content

• Fast learner who can take feedback and execute multiple writing styles

• Adaptable able to work in a very fast paced environment, meeting tight deadlines and client required timelines

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
