Job Description:

As the founding engineer at Nero, you will work directly with the CTO to build and scale the monetization rails for platforms like Twitch and TikTok. You will own complex technical problems end-to-end, from architecting real-time websocket systems to designing fan CRM tools, impacting over 600,000 monthly users in the creator economy.

Location: San Francisco, USA

What you will do:

• Architect and implement high-performance real-time systems, including websocket-based live queues and secure peer-to-peer payment processing for fan submissions.
• Build and ship complete 0-1 products from scratch, such as automated clipping engines and fan CRM systems, using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Own the entire infrastructure and reliability stack, establishing CI/CD pipelines and monitoring systems to support hundreds of thousands of concurrent concurrent users.

The ideal candidate:

• Strong fullstack developer with professional experience in TypeScript, React, and Node.js who is highly proficient in AI-assisted development tools like Cursor or Claude Code.
• A builder with a creative soul—you have a personal creative practice in music, production, or photography and viscerally understand the needs of the artists you are building for.
• High-velocity executor who thrives in a seed-stage environment, is comfortable with 50+ hour weeks, and takes total ownership of problems without needing hand-holding.
