Front Office Python Developer

Eclipse Trading is a leading proprietary derivatives trading firm. Founded in 2007, we have over 100 employees across 4 office locations – Hong Kong (our HQ), Sydney, Shanghai and Chicago. Our trading expertise and strategies are deployed across several markets globally, focusing on various products including equity derivatives, delta one, ETFs, commodity derivatives, and cryptocurrency. We are seeking a skilled Python Developer to join our Rapid Application Development (RAD) Team. This team partners closely with traders and quantitative analysts to develop and optimize Python-based solutions for pricing and trading challenges across multiple business lines.

Our mission is to empower users with seamless access to live data and a flexible framework for building custom automation logic. At the same time, we deliver time-sensitive and mission-critical applications within that same ecosystem.

The position can be located in Hong Kong or Sydney (with authorization to work in Sydney).

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance and expand our Python-based application development framework
• Collaborate directly with traders and quantitative analysts to build and maintain Python trading applications
• Lead projects end-to-end—from analysis and design through to implementation and delivery
• Train end users and promote software development best practices
• Provide Tier 3 production support as needed

What You Offer

• 2+ years of professional experience in Python development
• Proven ability to design, extend, and maintain clean, efficient, production-grade Python applications and libraries
• Strong focus on automated testing, code reviews, and software engineering best practices
• Experience with asynchronous programming (asyncio or similar frameworks) is highly desirable
• Background in trading system development is a strong plus
• Prior front office or quant development experience is highly desirable
• University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English
