Head of Marketing & Demand Generation

About us

Metriport is an open-source data intelligence platform that helps healthcare organizations access and exchange patient data in real-time. We integrate with all major US healthcare IT systems and tap into comprehensive medical data for 300+ million individuals. We've found product-market fit with multi-million ARR, 100+ customers (including Strive Health, Circle Medical, and Brightside Health), backing from top VCs, and years of runway. We're ready to scale. We're a tight-knit, high-performing team of mostly former founders (including two YC alumni). We're engineering-heavy, operate with minimal bureaucracy and high autonomy, and hire based on competence, not prestige. We push hard—founders work six days a week from our SF office—but give everyone freedom to craft their schedule. We measure output and we're committed to sustainable intensity.

About You

In a nutshell, we're looking for a Head of Marketing & Demand Generation professional with the following qualities:

  • You're entrepreneurial-minded, with an olympian-level work ethic. A large swath of our team consists of former founders.
  • You thrive in ambiguity and own outcomes. You don't need a playbook, you write the playbook. When someone says a project will take three weeks, you ask "why not three days?"
  • You're a systems thinker who can also execute. You can architect a comprehensive Demand Gen strategy on Monday and host an intimate Executive Dinner on Thursday.
  • You're data-obsessed but creative. You can craft a compelling story that resonates with healthcare decision-makers, with the data to back it up.
  • You're a Swiss Army knife marketer. ABM, GEO/SEO, events, content, paid ads, etc. you may not be an expert in all, but you're fearless about diving into any channel that drives results, iterating as you go.
  • You have enough technical acumen to credibly market to engineering teams, clinicians, healthcare executives, and product managers. You know what APIs, SDKs, HIEs, VBC, and ADTs are (or the tenacity to learn).
  • You're an exceptional communicator who can write compelling copy, present to executives, and collaborate seamlessly with Sales, Customer Success, Clinical Operations, Product, and Engineering teams.

The Role

This is an opportunity to shape how healthcare organizations discover and adopt the infrastructure that will power the next generation of digital health innovation.

As our first Marketing/Demand Gen hire, you'll have unprecedented ownership and impact. You'll work directly with our Co-Founders and GTM team to build our growth engine from the ground up..

Key Responsibilities

Foundation Building & Strategy

  • Learn our existing core messaging framework that positions and differentiates us from competitors - iterate accordingly.
  • Audit our current digital presence and create a comprehensive, multi-phased Marketing/Demand Gen roadmap.
  • Establish baseline metrics and implement tracking across Marketing/Demand Gen activities, then increase brand awareness in a measurable way (e.g. search volume, organic traffic, social engagement).

Demand Generation & Growth

  • ABM (Account-Based Marketing): Build targeted campaigns for enterprise and mid-market accounts, working closely with GTM/Sales to penetrate high-value organizations.
  • SEO/GEO: Own our organic search strategy, from technical SEO to content optimization, ensuring we capture high-intent healthcare technology searches
  • Paid Ads: Launch and optimize campaigns across LinkedIn, Google Ads, and healthcare-specific platforms, with rigorous ROI tracking.
  • Events & Conferences: Strategize and execute our presence at key industry events (e.g. HIMSS, ViVE, HLTH), from booth design to speaking opportunities.
  • Content & Collateral: Create compelling content across the funnel (e.g. blog posts, case studies, whitepapers)
  • Webinars & Digital Events: Host educational sessions that position us as thought leaders in healthcare interoperability.
  • Email Marketing & Nurture: Construct nurture sequences that educate, provide value, and guide prospects towards the top-of-funnel.

GTM/Sales Partnership

  • Partner with GTM/Sales to generate the highest impact on the activities above, as well as shared pipeline accountability.
  • Join customer calls to understand pain points and refine messaging.
  • Own marketing-sourced pipeline targets and work backwards to hit them.

Analytics & Optimization

  • Run continuous A/B tests across landing pages, ad copy, and email campaigns.
  • Build and maintain marketing dashboards tracking MQLs, pipeline contribution, CAC, and ROI by channel.

Qualifications

Desired:

  • 4-7 years of B2B SaaS Marketing/Growth experience (though we've met people with two years who outperform those with twenty - we evaluate holistically).
  • Demonstrable success driving pipeline and revenue through multi-channel campaigns.
  • Hands-on experience with the entire Marketing/Demand Gen stack (HubSpot preferred, but we’re open to whatever tools are necessary to get the job done).
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and execute at a high level.

Nice to Have:

  • Healthcare, digital health, or health tech industry experience.
  • Experience marketing developer tools, APIs, or technical products.
  • Experience with complex B2B sales cycles in a regulated industry.
  • Prior startup or high-growth company experience.
