Head of Risk — Malta

Applicants must be located in Malta.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and manage the Risk Management Framework, policies, procedures, and risk register
• Identify, analyze, quantify, and mitigate integrity, ICT, operational, market, credit, legal, compliance, and conflict-of-interest risks
• Design, enforce, and monitor credit and counterparty risk policies and exposures
• Implement risk measurement methodologies, recommend risk appetite thresholds, and develop monitoring tools
• Ensure regulatory compliance and support reporting to the Board, senior management, auditors, and regulators
• Lead incident response, crisis management, and coordinate cross-functional risk controls for new products

Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in financial services or compliance (required)
• Proven experience in risk management across multiple risk types and in preparing regulatory reports
• Strong verbal and written communication, sound judgment, and analytical abilities
• Effective follow-up skills and ability to communicate clearly and promptly with stakeholders
• Must be able to undergo the MFSA Pre-Approval (PQ) process

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with operations of the crypto, investment, or banking sectors

Benefits:

• Base salary range for Malta-based role: 84,000 to 115,000 per year (exclusive of discretionary bonuses, equity allocations, and localized benefits)
