About the role:

We are looking for a Junior Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist to take full ownership of our day-to-day financial operations and payroll for our Israel-based team. In this role, you will manage full-cycle bookkeeping and oversee the end-to-end monthly payroll process with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and accountability.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will ensure compliance with Israeli labor laws and tax regulations, support month-end and year-end closing processes, and assist with audit preparation. This is a hands-on role suited for a detail-oriented, proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working across multiple financial systems.

Responsibilities:

• Own full-cycle bookkeeping activities through the trial balance stage
• Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process for Israel-based employees
• Ensure full compliance with Israeli tax regulations, including VAT, income tax, and withholding tax
• Prepare and submit statutory payroll reports, including Forms 102 and 126
• Maintain accurate, well-organized financial records and supporting documentation
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes
• Assist with audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.
• Work with financial systems, including NetSuite, Michpal, and related tools
• Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency across finance operations

Qualifications:

• 2–3+ years of experience in bookkeeping and payroll
• Certified Bookkeeper (Type 2 or 3) and Certified Payroll Clerk
• Proven experience with full-cycle bookkeeping through trial balance and month-end close
• Strong knowledge of Israeli payroll, labor laws, and tax reporting requirements
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite, Michpal, and Excel (or similar systems)
• Experience in a high-tech company or CPA firm — an advantage
• Fluent in Hebrew and high-level English (written and spoken)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
