Materials Engineer, Propulsion Materials
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Materials Engineer position within the Propulsion Materials team at SpaceX. With a solid background in materials science and hands-on experience in additive manufacturing, specifically laser powder bed fusion, I am eager to contribute to the development of next-generation rocket engines like Raptor and Starship. My expertise in characterization techniques and failure analysis aligns perfectly with your mission to increase the reliability of internal designs and manufacturing processes.
Throughout my career, I have focused on the mechanical and thermal properties of aerospace alloys, including nickel-based superalloys and stainless steels. I am particularly drawn to SpaceX's fast-paced environment and the opportunity to work directly with additive engineering teams to solve complex material challenges. I am confident that my technical skills in fractography and metallography, combined with my passion for space exploration, make me an ideal candidate for this role.
