WHY BOX NEEDS YOU

The Shuttle team is building the next generation of content migration functionality for Box. This is a strategic project to enable Box customers to more easily and more quickly migrate their content from both on-premises content repositories and competitive cloud platforms. This effort is critical to increasing the breadth and depth of the content enterprises store on Box. In this role you will be a key player in the development of this system.

Box Shuttle is nearing the completion of a major architectural upgrade, shifting our focus towards efficiency, speed, and scalability. As Box’s dedicated bulk migration tool, we are committed to not just importing customer files but also bringing along the valuable data linked to those files. This will allow customers to fully leverage Box’s intelligent content management from the moment their files arrive in Box. We’re also enhancing our services to ensure that customer content is imported in the regions they need it in, anywhere in the world.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Develop new backend features for high scale and performance
• Design and implement auto-scaling of microservices
• Solve distributed system challenges resulting from scale out
• Measure and optimize backend performance
• Create tools to aid in testing, deployment, and product support

WHO YOU ARE

• You have 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• You have experience with Python, and popular scripting languages (Java, PHP, JavaScipt/Node.js, etc.).
• You communicate and complete project milestones with manager and team members in a time-sensitive manner.
• You are passionate about new technologies and can implement them in existing products.
• You enjoy working in a dynamic project environment and rapid prototyping.
• You speak English proficiently.

• Programming Languages: Python, Java, PHP, JavaScript/Node.js

• Cloud Platforms: AWS or GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
• Containerization: Kubernetes
• Database Technology: MongoDB
