Role

We are looking for a Principal Information Security Engineer to join our Product Security Team. This is a hybrid role based in Bangalore, reporting to the Sr. Director, Information Security. You will lead the design and implementation of secure architectures for AI/ML components integrated into Zscaler's cloud security products while developing a strategic roadmap that aligns with our product vision and the evolving threat landscape.

What you’ll do (Role Expectations)

• Lead the design and implementation of secure architectures for AI/ML components and features integrated into cloud security products
• Develop a strategic roadmap for AI/ML product security that aligns with business objectives and threat evolution
• Conduct specialized threat modeling for AI/ML features to identify vulnerabilities like adversarial attacks, data poisoning, and prompt injection
• Perform comprehensive security risk assessments of AI/ML initiatives and drive remediation within development cycles
• Collaborate with data scientists and product management to embed security controls throughout the MLOps lifecycle

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• 10+ years of progressive experience in Information Security with at least 5 years in a dedicated Security Architecture role
• 3+ years of direct experience securing AI/ML systems and data within commercial software or large-scale SaaS offerings
• Proven expertise in designing and securing large-scale distributed systems on public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong understanding of AI/ML fundamentals, algorithms, model development lifecycles, and MLOps principles
• Hands-on experience with threat modeling methodologies such as STRIDE or MITRE ATLAS for ML

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex security requirements into practical architectural designs for product teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders and Product Managers across all levels
