While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.

Coinbase Growth is a consumer-facing team that works on scaling Coinbase by identifying the highest impact opportunities that better connect users and maximize core product value. We are looking for an entrepreneurial and system-thinking Product Manager to join our Engagement team—the core team responsible for building a retentive product experience

Your mission is to build the notification engine for all of Coinbase. You will own the core notification platform (responsible for delivering billions of notifications) and the overall notification experience (optimizing inventory & in-app experience). We have three key objectives:

• Step 1: Grow MAU -> Attract & resurrect users who are not currently active in the product
• Step 2: Drive Meaningful Engagement -> Deliver a useful & informative experience to help users be more successful on Coinbase
• Step 3: Maximize Lifetime Value -> Optimize inventory, delivery, and targeting with ML to maximize the lifetime value of customers long-term.

What you’ll be doing:

• Own the trading companion of the future — Transform notifications from simple alerts into an intelligent system that anticipates market opportunities, synthesizes noise into actionable buy/sell signals, and guides millions of users toward profitable decisions in real-time
• Build for scale and speed — Architect notification infrastructure capable of delivering millions of time-sensitive alerts (like Bitcoin ATH notifications) within seconds, not hours — because in crypto, every moment counts
• Ship to one of the largest notification audiences in fintech — Drive strategy for push, in-app, and email channels reaching Coinbase's massive global user base, directly impacting trading volume and incremental revenue measured in the millions
• Pioneer ML-driven personalization — Partner with machine learning teams on Smart Targeting and Hydropower initiatives to decide who gets what insight at exactly the right moment, balancing engagement with notification fatigue
• Collaborate at the intersection of Growth and Product — Work closely with cross-functional teams (ML, marketing, Platform Engineering, Design) to build stateful notification systems, volume controls, and quality guardrails that protect user experience while maximizing impact
• Drive measurable business outcomes — Own KPIs tied directly to revenue, trading volume, user retention, and engagement — your work will move the needle on Coinbase's most important growth metrics

What we look for in you:

• 5+ years of product management experience, preferably on a high-performing Growth team at a consumer tech company.
• An entrepreneurial "0-to-1" mindset. You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and "do the job" manually first (like running an incentive program) before you build the technology to automate it.
• Deep "1-to-N" Systems Thinking. You are a natural systems thinker. You see the one-off solution as a prototype for the scalable, reusable "engine" and "primitives" you will build next.
• Direct experience in the growth, notifications, or engagement. You have built or managed systems engineering systems that help scale impact.
• Deeply analytical, with a proven ability to partner with Data Science to build measurement and A/B testing frameworks from the ground up.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication, relationship management, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to lead complex, multi-quarter, cross-functional projects.

Nice to haves:

• Experience or passion in crypto
• Strong interest in influencing the business: revenue generation, business models, and LTV optimization.

Pay Transparency Notice:Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position can range as detailed below. Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility and benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).

Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus):

$180,380—$212,200 USD
