Propulsion Engineer (Raptor Combustion Devices)
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Propulsion Engineer position for Raptor Combustion Devices. With a solid foundation in aerospace engineering and hands-on experience in high-pressure fluid systems, I am eager to contribute to the development of the most advanced full-flow staged combustion engine in history. My background in designing and testing combustor injector elements, combined with a first-principles approach to complex problem-solving, aligns perfectly with the technical rigors of the Raptor program.
Throughout my career and academic projects, I have demonstrated the ability to own hardware from concept through flight operations, including performing critical anomaly reviews and data analysis. I am particularly drawn to SpaceX's fast-paced environment and the mission of making life multi-planetary. I am confident that my proficiency in Siemens NX, Python, and structural analysis, along with my commitment to engineering excellence, will allow me to make an immediate impact on the Starship launch vehicle's success.

Описание вакансии
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
PROPULSION ENGINEER (RAPTOR COMBUSTION DEVICES)
The Propulsion Engineer role is responsible for owning the development, production, and operation of an engine combustor and associated hardware from concept through to successful flight operations. You will drive all necessary work to effectively and safely develop and fly your hardware on the most advanced full flow staged combustion engine on the largest launch vehicle in history.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible engineer for an engine combustor, owning the success of design and requirements, delivery of production hardware at target throughput rates, and reliable operating performance at the integrated engine and vehicle level.
- Identify, organize, and drive design changes related to department priorities such as reliability, simplification, and performance.
- Own the development of combustor design and hardware from concept through testing and production while actively managing the existing fleet of hardware in operation.
- Coordinate a team of peers through informal leadership and self-directed program organization to achieve goals. Assign clear responsibilities and hold teammates accountable for execution. Collaborate with engineers from other teams to design and develop hardware that meets system and high-level engine requirements.
- Develop test requirements and participate in test operations early in the part life cycle to develop hardware and processes to accept engines for flight. Own anomaly reviews for defective hardware from comprehensive data review to complete hardware teardown.
- Perform analysis on data from test and flight operations of the hardware. Iterate the results from data into improved designs, as well as make critical go/no-go calls on hardware performance in operation.
