Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join Coupang Cloud Finance team, based in our Mountain View office. This role will lead our Cloud FinOps team and partner closely with engineer leaders across US, Korea, Japan and Taiwan to deliver actionable financial insights that drive cloud cost optimization and cloud strategy.  

What You Will Do

Planning, Reporting and Analysis: 

• Lead strategic financial analysis and planning on cloud related projects and initiatives, such as ROI analysis, TCO analysis, cloud service Buy vs. Build, Hybrid and multi-cloud strategy analysis, and AWS Reserve Instance and Savings Plan planning

• Partner with stakeholders to identify cost optimization opportunities, set efficiency improvement goals, and track cloud savings

• Work with engineer leads across Coupang to define and build Cloud usage operation metrics and guardrails, monitoring AWS spend to key business metrics performance

 Operation: 

• Reviewing cloud capacity requests from engineering and providing cloud cost optimization recommendations where applicable

• Establish an automation mechanism to routinely monitoring AWS Reserve Instance and Savings Plan and coverage and supporting RI purchase origination process to optimize RI savings

• Partner with engineer teams to drive company resource improvement

• Leveraging Coupang AWS cost data to do benchmarking analysis—identifying outlier services that require provision revisiting

• Build data driven insights that help shape and champion company wide cloud governance policy

 Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis in a fast-paced technology-oriented organization.

• Experience with SQL queries, Tableau & organizing large datasets

• Proficient in developing comprehensive financial models, creating new financial processes, models and tools.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with non-financial leaders in technology. Ability to articulate complex cloud & financial topics clearly.

• Strong MS-Office skills (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) and experience with SAP.

• Extensive Business partnership experience with executives and senior leaders.

• 2+ years experience with at least 1 public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) with working knowledge of cloud technology & cloud cost drivers

• Preferred 2+ years people manager experience

Pay & Benefits:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation. The base pay for this position ranges from $155,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $267,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
