Purpose

The purpose of this role is to design and develop manufacturing equipment utilized by the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS™). You would own the mechanical design and development of full systems and components for a laser powder bed fusion machine, ensuring they meet cost, reliability, performance, and schedule targets. To be successful in this role, you will partner closely with software, process, optics, and controls teammates to develop a complex, industrialized production machine/system.

The Role

• Conceptual through detailed design of various subsystems for advanced manufacturing systems.
• Associated structural, thermal and dynamic analysis / simulation.
• Integration of various electrical, controls, optical and fluids components as required.
• Collaborate with external design and manufacturing partners as required, ensuring high quality and schedule adherence to project milestones.
• Hands on development, fabrication, assembly, integration and test of systems.
• Troubleshooting of complex systems.

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls.
• 5+ years detailed design of complex mechanical systems.
• Experience with motion system or automation design.
• Extensive drafting and GD&T experience.
• Experience with hands on assembly and testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
• Experience with capital equipment design and production.
• Knowledgeable of laser powder-bed fusion or similar systems.
• FEA, Thermal, or other analysis skills.

Pay Range

$122,400—$168,300 USD
