About the role

We’re looking for a Senior React Native Engineer to join a high-impact product team building and scaling real-world mobile applications used by active users.

This is not a ticket-execution role.

We are looking for someone who:

• Thinks like a product engineer
• Owns features end-to-end
• Understands performance, UX, and real-world constraints
• Can operate with autonomy and technical judgment

You’ll be working on a production mobile platform, collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality experiences.

There is a strong preference for candidates based in Chicago or open to regular in-person collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and scale mobile applications using React Native
• Own features from concept → development → production
• Optimize performance, responsiveness, and user experience
• Collaborate with product and design on user-facing features
• Work across APIs, integrations, and backend services when needed
• Contribute to architectural decisions and code quality
• Leverage modern tools (including AI) to improve development efficiency

Must Have:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong experience with React Native in production
• Proven experience building and shipping mobile apps (iOS and/or Android)
• Deep understanding of mobile performance, animations, and UX
• Experience working with APIs and backend integrations
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of features
• Based in Chicago, or open to frequent travel for in-person collaboration

Nice to Have:

• Experience with React, Node.js, or full-stack environments
• Experience optimizing mobile performance at scale
• Exposure to AI tools, automation, or modern development workflows
• Experience mentoring other engineers
• Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment
