A Senior Software Engineer plays a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems while providing technical leadership within a team. Their primary purpose is to architect scalable and efficient solutions, ensuring that software meets both functional and non-functional requirements such as performance, security, and maintainability.

Senior Software Engineers are responsible for writing high-quality, scalable, and efficient code, ensuring that software meets business and technical requirements. Additionally, they review and optimize existing code, conduct thorough testing, and troubleshoot complex issues to improve system performance and reliability. Senior software engineers also mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and best practices in coding, architecture, and software development methodologies. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and quality assurance professionals, to align technical solutions with business objectives. Furthermore, they contribute to architectural decisions, evaluate new technologies, and drive innovation within the organization. Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while leading projects are essential for success in this role.

This role reports to the Senior Manager, Engineering.

Projects you may be working on in this position include:

• Optimize Partner Data Ingestions: Build and maintain API and file-based partner ingestion pipelines to streamline data flow.
• Revolutionize Pricing Pipelines: Replace outdated Google Sheets-based workflows with a robust, automated pricing system, eliminating human error and enhancing reliability.
• Enable Data Visibility: Design and implement a comprehensive dashboard that delivers real-time, vertical-level data insights for improved decision-making.
• Streamline Investigations with Automation: Develop innovative solutions to automate manual investigations, empowering stakeholders with self-serve tools to resolve issues faster.
• Elevate Data Quality and Alerts: Overhaul and unify the alerting system, implementing advanced data quality checks to drive confidence in analytics.

Where you can make an impact:

• Help business stakeholders make data-driven decisions by improving the partner ingestion system that ingests data from hundreds of partners and build pricing engine on top of it.
• Use observability and monitoring tools to proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve production issues quickly.
• Help drive our existing values as a team towards better engineering practices, strong continuous improvement thinking, and failing fast / repairing faster mentality.
• Serve as a mentor to the engineers on the team.
• Partner with management to continuously develop the engineering roadmap for our team.

You are:

Your experience:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in full-stack software engineering, with a strong background in backend development and distributed systems.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Technical Skills:

+ Programming Languages – Proficiency in languages like React, Python, Java, JavaScript, or others based on the stack.

+ Tools and Frameworks - Apache Airflow, Snowflake, Monte Carlo, and Cursor.

+ Software Development – Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, DevOps).

+ System Design & Architecture – Experience in designing scalable, distributed, and high-performance systems.

+ Databases – Knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.

+ Cloud Platforms – Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for deploying and managing applications.

+ Microservices & APIs – Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architecture.

+ DevOps & CI/CD – Experience with automation tools (CDK, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

+ Testing & Debugging – Proficiency in unit testing, integration testing, and debugging tools.

+ Security Best Practices – Awareness of security principles, authentication, and authorization techniques.

+ Version Control – Proficiency with Git and workflows like GitFlow.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in consumer credit, lending, loans, or insurance, with a solid understanding of working with multiple external partners and unifying pipelines.
• Experience with front-end frameworks like Next.js, React, or similar.
