As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying secure, user-focused identity and access management (IAM) solutions across the Scout24 digital real estate ecosystem. You will work in diverse, cross-functional teams to build scalable, performant, and secure applications, integrating Single Sign-On (SSO), Identity Federation, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) capabilities. Leveraging modern technologies like AWS, Java/Kotlin, React, and Okta, you will ensure seamless and secure user experiences while protecting sensitive data.

How your role will look like:

• Design and implement authentication and authorization systems that align with business goals and compliance needs.
• Develop secure backend logic using Java or Kotlin with Spring and serverless TypeScript, and user-friendly interfaces in React.
• Integrate and administer Okta, implementing OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and custom sign-on policies and rules.
• Develop and automate identity workflows using Okta Workflows and monitor and troubleshoot SSO systems to ensure reliability.
• Manage API security & token management, safeguarding communication between distributed services.
• Own the full development lifecycle following the “You build it you run it” principle.
• Promote engineering excellence by mentoring others, advocating for clean code, continuous delivery, pair programming, and test-driven development.
• Continuously evaluate and improve security, scalability, and usability of IAM systems by staying abreast of current trends and best practices.

What you need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Significant professional experience as a Senior Software Engineer, working on secure, distributed, cloud-based systems.
• Expertise in backend development (Java/Kotlin, Spring) - frontend experience is a strong plus(React, TypeScript).
• Strong hands-on experience with Okta administration and integration, including automation, custom policies, and monitoring.
• In-depth knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SSO, MFA, Identity Federation, and API security/token management.
• Familiarity with AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Proven ability to collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and stakeholders to deliver secure and user-friendly solutions.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring engineers and promoting secure engineering practices.
• Passion for technology, curiosity, and commitment to delivering high-quality, secure, and maintainable software.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to drive problem-solving and productivity, maintaining effective human oversight and judgement.
