Klaviyo operates a real-time data platform built for massive scale on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Engineers come to Klaviyo with experience in a variety of languages and from a number of disciplines.

Responsibilities

The teams in the Data Platform area work with large scale distributed systems and databases to power core Klaviyo functionality and generate data-driven insights. As an engineer in this area, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining systems that support other engineering teams across Klaviyo. You will work with a cross functional team to help design systems, write high quality code, create infrastructure, and operate large scale systems in a production environment.

Required Skills

• Degree or equivalent experience in a software engineering discipline
• 2+ years of experience in a software engineering discipline
• Proficient in using at least one modern programming language
• Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in a cloud computing environment
• Experience with OLTP or OLAP databases
• Experience with high volume data processing and storage systems
• Experience provisioning infrastructure using Terraform or a similar infrastructure as code tool
• Experience using Linux operating systems
• Able to communicate well
• Able to work with others on a team
• Able to learn continuously and adapt to a high growth environment
• Able to stick with and solve difficult problems

Our salary range reflects the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all our US locations. The base salary offered for this position is determined by several factors, including the applicant’s job-related skills, relevant experience, education or training, and work location.

In addition to base salary, our total compensation package may include participation in the company’s annual cash bonus plan, variable compensation (OTE) for sales and customer success roles, equity, sign-on payments, and a comprehensive range of health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits based on eligibility.

Base Pay Range For US Locations:

$116,000—$174,000 USD
