WHY BOX NEEDS YOU?

We’re looking for talented engineers to join the Notifications team at Box. Our mission is to deliver reliable, relevant, and high-quality notifications that keep our users informed and engaged.

We own the end-to-end notifications platform, powering all communication channels at Box—including email, push notifications (Android and iOS), in-app real-time updates, and integrations with partners such as Slack and Teams.

We’re also building the internal platform that enables product teams across Box to create, experiment with, monitor, and iterate on notifications at scale. This is a high-impact area, directly shaping user experience for millions of users.

WHO YOU ARE?

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Have experience in Java and knowledge of software design principles
• Assess, communicate and complete project milestones with manager and team members in a time sensitive manner
• Must speak English proficiently
• Experience in test automation

BONUS POINTS FOR

• Experience working with PHP or Node.js
• Experience working in a product company on customer-facing features
• You act like an owner and strive to do work you're proud of, both technically and in your team interactions
• Experience in decomposing monolithic application into microservices

WHAT YOU'LL DO?

• Attend and engage in weekly stand ups, team meetings, manager 1:1s.
• Team up with other engineers to foster solid engineering principles and represent our engineering values.
• Utilize both your technical and interpersonal skills to lead large scale projects to completion.
• Collaborate, influence and drive for improvement across scrum teams.
• Model solid engineering practices around architectural design, testability, scalability and maintainability.
• Partner with product managers, designers and other cross-functional stakeholders to align on requirements and understand how your work will impact the business.
• Participate in our on-call rotation, available at all times while on-call to help respond to and triage any issues that arise.
