Sr. Equipment Reliability Engineer - Automation & Controls (Starship)
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Senior Equipment Reliability Engineer position for Starship Automation & Controls. With over five years of experience in designing and commissioning complex industrial automation systems, I have developed a deep expertise in PLC programming, specifically with Siemens TIA Portal and Beckhoff TwinCat 3, as well as integrating robotic systems like Kuka and ABB into high-stakes production environments.
Throughout my career, I have focused on creating maintainable, structured code and designing electrical control panels that meet rigorous safety standards such as NFPA79 and UL508A. My background in mechatronics and hands-on experience with field wiring and hardware activation aligns perfectly with SpaceX's iterative and fast-paced manufacturing approach. I am particularly drawn to the challenge of developing automated solutions for the world's most powerful launch vehicle and am eager to apply my problem-solving skills to the Starship production line.
I am a proactive engineer who thrives in demanding environments and is comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces to ensure equipment reliability. I am a U.S. citizen and fully compliant with ITAR requirements. I look forward to the possibility of discussing how my technical skills in automation and controls can contribute to the success of the Starship program.

Описание вакансии
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
SR. AUTOMATION & CONTROLS ENGINEER (STARSHIP)
SpaceX's Starship spacecraft and Super Heavy rocket (collectively referred to as Starship) represent a fully reusable transportation system designed to carry both crew and cargo to Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars and beyond. Starship will be the world's most powerful launch vehicle ever developed, with the ability to carry in excess of 100 metric tons to Earth orbit. We are looking for an automation & controls engineer to help SpaceX develop and build a great variety of automated solutions for Starship Production. This role will be hands-on in designing and activating hardware and software systems for the machines that make up the Starship production line. The role will also support transport and storage solutions for Starship vehicles. The successful applicant will join and be supported by a highly talented team of automation and control engineers with an amazing track record in developing any automated solution imaginable.
