In this position, you will lead our financial strategy in the Africa/MENA region. You will collaborate closely with Sales and Country Managers, structuring treasury flows and ensuring our Merchant Experience is backed by a robust and innovative treasury engine. You will be a key player in our global expansion, proposing financial solutions and strengthening EBANX’s strategic footprint in the region.

What your day-to-day will look like

• Lead the African team to guarantee our daily operations execution across markets.
• Implement flows for efficient currency exchange from local African currencies to USD.
• Align with the HQ and execute the global FX strategy.
• Establish and manage relationships with banks, payments providers, and currency exchangers in Africa and MENA region.
• Partner with the Commercial and Country Growth teams to structure complex deals, providing technical expertise in FX and liquidity, including participation in key merchant interactions.
• Identify, propose, and implement innovative treasury solutions to enhance the competitiveness and efficiency of our offering.

What you need to shine in this role

• Regional Expertise: Minimum of 8+ years in Treasury or Financial Markets, with experience specifically focused on the African landscape (South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, etc.).
• Robust FX & Liquidity Knowledge: Proven experience managing complex FX operations and liquidity in markets with exchange controls and currency volatility.
• Business Enablement: Strong ability to translate complex treasury solutions into commercial value, supporting the Sales team in structuring deals and leading merchant-facing interactions.
• Relationship Management: Demonstrated ability to manage and negotiate with Tier-1 Banks and Liquidity Providers in Africa.
• Strategic Leadership: Experience leading remote teams.
• Communication: Fluent in English with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Bonus points if you have

• Previous experience in the payments industry.
• Previous working experience in a startup environment.
• Data Analytics: Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, or PowerBI to build self-service dashboards and drive data-led decisions.
• Academic Background: Master’s degree, MBA, or professional certifications such as CFA.
• Multilingualism: Fluency in additional languages relevant to the region, such as Arabic, French, or Portuguese.
