About the Team

The Financial Modeling Team is a part of the Customer & Product Support (C&PS) department which sits at the intersection of sales, customer success and technical support. The Financial Modeling team is comprised of finance professionals with prior experience in investment banking, equity research, and holds at least one of the following qualifications: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Certified Management Accountants (CMA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM). The team aims to understand our users' financial data needs to provide solutions that enhance M&A and quantitative research workflows.

The Financial Modeling team provides expert services for our analytical tools so that we can provide customers with a tailored experience when using our products. This seasoned team of investment professionals specializes in onboarding and customer adoption for our Excel add-ins, by developing, converting and validating financial models and library templates.

About the Role

We are looking to hire an Analyst, Financial Modeling to join the growing Financial Modeling team at AlphaSense. This role marries the technical knowledge of our solution with a deep understanding of our users, across all of the segments and business units that we work with, to realize maximum value from the platform. The team is heavily relied upon to contribute excellent customer service by building financial models, which ultimately maximizes prospect and customer health. In order to learn our business and customer inside and out, this team helps build bespoke client model requests and maintain the template library using the excel add-ins tool. This role spearheads usage and engagement and partners with our product management and engineering teams in determining future product developments that will resonate with the market.

Who You Are

Basic Requirements

• Post graduate degree in Finance, Accounting or similar. Professional qualification including Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), FRM.
• An intelligent, articulate, consultative and confident professional with 1-3 years of client-facing experience.
• Have deep and proven expertise in finance and experience building financial models in excel with the ability to interpret financial data and conduct analysis.
• Knowledge of basic accounting concepts and a solid understanding of financial analysis terminology and best practices, such as DCF and financial statements.
• A keen eye for detail and an ability to sift through large data sets to extract meaningful information.
• Excellent time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• You enjoy being part of an entrepreneurial team and work diligently to help others when needed.
• Possess a customer-obsessed mindset and enjoy working through complex problems to find solutions.
• Strong communicator with the innate ability to distill and explain complex issues in simple terms.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office suite products.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Effective communication and presentation abilities.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience working using CapIQ, Bloomberg or similar Excel add-ins
• Knowledge of VBA
• Ability to handle ambiguity, proactively identify challenges and present solutions
• Have an interest in AI, technology and software applications

+ Model Accuracy: Ensure financial models are accurate, error-free, and reflect the business’s operational complexities.

+ Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional internal teams to help clients maximize the value from our product offerings.

+ Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of assumptions, methodologies, and formulas used in models.

+ Quality Assurance: Perform rigorous testing to validate model outputs and verify formula integrity.

+ Adaptability: Modify models to accommodate changing business circumstances, regulatory changes, or new data.

+ Problem-Solving: Address complex financial challenges by creating innovative solutions within the modeling framework.

+ Use Excel to produce high-quality models and reports for clients using AlphaSense add-in.

+ Create and present easy-to-understand models for clients

+ Deliver on predefined team targets including delivering outcomes with high quality and excellence.

+ Partner with internal teams to help clients maximize the value from AlphaSense product offerings.

• #### Be an expert on our product and continuously build your knowledge.

+ Be an expert on the AlphaSense product by proactively learning, staying up-to-date on new features and filling any gaps in your knowledge

+ Identify areas to improve content and contribute to creating and updating knowledge base articles, tutorials, and other support documentation based on their expertise.

+ Innovation: Work with product teams on new enhancements ideas/features for the template library.

+ Assist with special projects as assigned.
