We’re excited to invite talented and motivated Android Developers to join our award-winning team to help expand Robinhood’s mobile experience for our customers.

The Margins Team builds and operates the systems that allow customers to borrow against their investments and trade on margin safely. They own the core margin platform—covering eligibility, margin calculations, interest, risk controls, and liquidation logic—ensuring Robinhood can offer leverage while protecting customers and the firm. This is a high-stakes, highly regulated space where correctness, resilience, and real-time decision-making are critical.

As an Android Engineer on the Margins team, you’ll build customer-facing mobile experiences that surface margin functionality in a clear, intuitive, and responsible way. You’ll work closely with backend, product, design, and risk partners to deliver performant and reliable Android features, helping translate complex margin concepts into simple workflows while meeting Robinhood’s high bar for safety, quality, and user experience.

The role is based in our Toronto, Canada office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do

• Work with a fast-growing team to revolutionize finance at speed and scale
• Build smooth, stable, and elegant products with Kotlin and the newest Android APIs
• Own features from inception to design, implementation, and launch
• Work cross-functionally with Product Designers, Product Managers, Backend Developers, and Data team
• Work with Kotlin, Android SDK & Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Coroutines & Flow (preferred) OR RxJava, and Retrofit & Room

What you bring

• 3+ years of professional Android development experience building consumer Android applications at scale, preferably in Kotlin and Compose
• Attention to detail, passion for writing clean, readable and maintainable code
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java, and Jetpack
• Desire to improve Robinhood's app and codebase to ensure outstanding quality for our all users
• Strong product sense and ability to collaborate with Product Managers and Designers
• Excellent communication skills and passion for solving technical challenges
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred; equivalent training or work experience also acceptable

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed.

$136,000—$160,000 CAD
