Flow Traders is looking for a Financial Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team in the Amsterdam office. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading proprietary trading firm with an entrepreneurial and innovative culture at the heart of its business. In this role, you will support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and preparing accounting information up to trial balance level. You will be responsible for processing routine accounting transactions, assisting with month-end close activities, and performing reconciliations to ensure the integrity of the general ledger.

What you will do

• Process day-to-day accounting transactions in the general ledger
• Assist with preparing and posting journal entries, including accruals and prepayments
• Perform bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations
• Support the preparation of the trial balance and month-end close activities
• Assist in maintaining fixed assets and prepaid expense schedules
• Support the preparation of reporting packs and supporting schedules
• Assist with audit preparation and respond to basic audit queries
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures
• Support monthly payroll activities

What you need to succeed

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
• 3+ years working experience in an accounting role
• Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
• Practical experience working at trial balance level
• Knowledge of Dutch payroll and tax regulations
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience using Exact accounting software is a plus
• Working knowledge of SQL queries for data extraction and validation
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Dutch language is a plus
