As we continue expanding our digital product and experience capabilities, we are looking for a Senior UI Engineer with strong JavaScript/TypeScript expertise to help build high-quality, scalable digital experiences across web platforms.

IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE

• This is a freelance contract position.
• Candidates must be available 100% from March 30 through April 30.
• Applicants must be able to commit to a 58% allocation throughout the contract period; those who cannot will not be considered.
• Compensation for this role is hourly-based.

The Role

Huge is looking for a Senior UI Engineer with strong experience in modern frontend technologies, particularly React and JavaScript/TypeScript. In this role, you will be responsible for building scalable, high-performance user interfaces and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including design, product, QA, and backend engineering.

You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment, contributing to the development of modern web applications, integrating with CMS platforms and APIs, and ensuring high standards in performance, accessibility, and usability.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Build high-quality, scalable, and maintainable user interfaces using React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Develop responsive and accessible interfaces using HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and modern frontend practices.
• Integrate frontend applications with CMS platforms and REST APIs.
• Collaborate with design teams (Figma), product managers, and QA to deliver high-quality digital experiences.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility, performance optimization, and accessibility compliance.
• Contribute to building scalable UI components and design systems.
• Participate in debugging, testing, and continuous improvement of frontend codebases.
• Solve complex UI challenges in fast-paced, delivery-focused environments.

What We’d Like to See

• 3+ years of experience working as a Senior UI / Frontend Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of semantic HTML, CSS/SASS, and responsive design.
• Experience building scalable UI components and design systems.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with CMS platforms and REST APIs.
• Familiarity working with design tools like Figma.
• Experience working in agile environments and cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver high-quality interfaces.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including component development.
• Experience with Optimizely (CMS or experimentation platform).
