Team and Role

This role sits at the center of Coinbase Institutional’s Prime & Markets strategy. You will own how our most complex products show up to institutional clients globally, from spot and derivatives to cross-margin, liquidity, and execution workflows.

Markets refers to Coinbase’s institutional exchange, derivatives, and execution stack accessed via Prime, including spot, futures, options, liquidity access, and market structure capabilities.

You’ll partner closely with Product, Markets, Sales, Legal, and Comms to translate deeply technical capabilities into clear narratives, confident sales motion, and measurable client adoption across regions with different regulatory constraints. This is a product-first, revenue-adjacent PMM role with real ownership and influence.

You will execute GTMs today while helping define how Coinbase Institutional goes to market in 2026 and beyond.

You will support products used by hundreds of institutional clients globally, including hedge funds, asset managers, and market makers executing at scale across spot and derivatives markets.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Own the Prime × Markets Narrative

• Define and evolve the positioning for Prime and Markets as a single institutional operating platform.
• Lead messaging across spot, futures, options, cross-margin, execution, and liquidity access.
• Pressure-test narratives with Sales, Product, Legal, and real clients to ensure credibility at hedge fund scale and regulatory durability across regions.

Lead Product-Heavy GTMs

• Act as PMM DRI for major Prime and Markets launches, including derivatives and cross-margin initiatives.
• Build GTM strategies that span product readiness, sales enablement, client communications, and events.
• Own sequencing and clarity around what’s live, what’s next, and what action clients should take.

Drive Sales Enablement That Converts

• Create high-signal enablement materials: talk tracks, FAQs, battlecards, demos, and client-ready narratives.
• Partner tightly with Sales, STPs, and Coverage to reflect real objections, real deals, and buying behavior.
• Reduce complexity for the field by delivering fewer, sharper, higher-impact assets.

Be the Translator Across Teams

• Translate between Product, Markets, Prime, Sales, and Leadership.
• Turn complex technical detail into institutional-grade clarity without oversimplifying.
• Influence roadmap and prioritization conversations through market-backed insight.

Raise the Bar for Institutional PMM

• Establish best practices for technical PMM work across the Institutional org.
• Shape how GTMs, product showcases, and launches are run going forward.
• Mentor junior PMMs and contribute to a stronger, more rigorous PMM function.

What We Look For In You:

Experience & Background

• 7+ years in product marketing or adjacent roles (PMM, product strategy, institutional GTM).
• Meaningful experience with institutional trading, derivatives, or market infrastructure.

Deep Domain Expertise

• Strong understanding of derivatives markets, including futures, options, margining, and execution models.
• Comfort discussing liquidity, capital efficiency, risk, and market structure with institutional clients.
• You speak the language of sophisticated trading firms and asset managers.

Global & Regulatory Awareness

• Experience building narratives and GTMs that work across regions with different regulatory constraints.
• Ability to balance global consistency with local compliance and market realities.

PMM Judgment

• Ability to simplify complex systems into clear, compelling positioning.
• Strong instincts around prioritization, sequencing, and tradeoffs.
• Confidence to push back when narratives don’t hold up.

High Agency & Ownership

• Thrive in ambiguity and take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks.
• Build structure where none exists and move work forward without waiting for direction.
• Balance speed with rigor.

Strong Cross-Functional Operator

• Proven ability to partner with Product, Sales, Markets, Legal, and Comms.

Clear, Executive-Ready Communication

• Exceptional written and verbal communication.

Ability to brief leadership, influence decisions, and represent product externally.

• Bring POV, not just summaries.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience in prime brokerage, derivatives platforms, electronic trading, or market infrastructure.
• Background in TradFi, crypto-native firms, or both.
• Prior experience supporting institutional sales teams.
• Familiarity with APIs, trading UIs, or execution workflows.

Pay Transparency Notice:Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position can range as detailed below. Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility and benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).

Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus):

$140,080—$164,800 USD
