Sama is supporting an automotive client with a structured vehicle-based data collection project. The project involves sensor-equipped vehicles capturing environmental and traffic scenarios used to improve autonomous driving systems.

We are seeking a Project Manager to coordinate field operations and ensure smooth execution of daily data collection activities. This is a 4 months contract opportunity paying $40-70/hour depending on skills and experience. 

Role Overview

The Project Manager will coordinate logistics, field operations and driver workflows for the data collection project. This role will ensure vehicles, trailers, routes and drivers are properly organized to maximize productive data capture time.

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations Management

• Plan and coordinate daily driving routes and schedules.
• Oversee operational workflows for vehicle preparation, trailer parking and trailer hitching.
• Ensure drivers follow defined collection protocols and safety procedures.

Logistics Coordination

• Source and coordinate trailer rentals and equipment logistics.
• Organize parking and staging locations for vehicles and trailers.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are operational prior to daily collection.

Driver Coordination

• Manage and support the team of drivers.
• Schedule shifts and driving rotations to maintain safety and coverage.

Project Execution

• Track data collection productivity and daily progress.
• Identify and resolve field issues quickly to minimize downtime.
• Ensure data is uploaded correctly and validated
• Communication with additional Sama team members around the project

Qualifications

• Experience in operations coordination, field operations or project management
• Strong organizational and logistical planning skills
• Ability to manage multiple operational tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Experience with autonomous vehicle data collection a plus
