We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer (Contractor) to join our dynamic Engineering team. This role is fully remote, offering an opportunity to contribute to exciting projects with the potential to transition into a long-term contractor position. As part of our highly experienced engineering team, you’ll work closely with Dave Brennanand be part of his team, giving you the opportunity to collaborate with him directly, learn from his experience, influence design decisions, and drive innovation while keeping the customer’s needs at the forefront.

WHO YOU ARE

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer (Contractor), you will develop advanced solutions using cutting-edge technologies, including cloud-based services, containerization, AI-driven features, adaptive process automation, and more. We’re looking for a passionate and innovative developer eager to build and scale the next wave of Hyperproof’s capabilities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Develop and design engaging user experiences using TypeScript and React, Java, C#; Go experience is also valuable.
• Design backend components, including REST APIs, queueing, storage systems, security layers (role-based access control, encryption), and more.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools (e.g., code assistants, automated testing, and analysis tools) to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and delivery speed.
• Contribute to and help evolve AI-driven product features, including intelligent automation and adaptive workflows.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to understand customer needs and translate them into software solutions.
• Own the quality and performance of the applications you build, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, compliant, and meet both customer and business expectations.
• Build reusable software components for other developers and business users.
• Implement automated testing and ensure code maintainability through documentation and best practices.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, focusing on design and coding at a component level.
• Professional level of English language proficiency.
• A strong customer-first mindset, with the ability to translate requirements into modern, flexible software solutions.
• Proficiency in FrontEnd and BackEnd technologies.
• Experience developing and integrating REST APIs using JSON and/or XML.
• Familiarity with cloud services (Azure or similar) for deployment and debugging.
• Expertise in asynchronous programming and scalable software development.
• Understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and the ability to work effectively in agile teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor and take ownership of projects.

DESIRED DEVELOPERS SKILLS

• TDD (Test Driven Development) and refactoring skills
• Experience in structuring the code for testability to separate unit-testable logic and integration-testable boundary code
• Nice to have: Pairing/mobbing experience and/or XP (eXtreme Programming) experience

This contract-to-hire arrangement provides a path to join the team permanently after successfully completing an exciting 6-12 month project.

CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE & INTERVIEW PROCESS

We value your time and aim to make the hiring process clear and efficient. The interview process includes:

1. 20-minute initial chat with our Senior Technical Talent Partner.
2. Take-home technical assessment to showcase your skills. Utilizing Coderbyte platform.
3. Three 60-minute 1:1 interviews with our engineering team. One of them will be with the hiring manager.
