About the Role:

This senior role merges strategic vision with hands-on execution to create iconic, consumer-focused products.

You will:

• Drive Strategic Vision:​ Lead early-stage concept exploration and 3D form development to set creative direction.
• Master Execution:​ Ensure design excellence through production with precision craftsmanship, DFM, and assembly best practices.
• Balance Ideation & Rigor:​ Translate big-picture innovation into manufacturable, iconic products.

• Own End-to-End Process:​ Guide projects from initial sketches through to production-ready execution.
• Partnership: work closely with the Global Industrial Design and CMF teams, Product Development, Marketing, Engineering, and Manufacturing partners.
• Leadership: a driver of global design capability, advancing new methods and tools.

LOCATION: Shenzhen or Suzhou, China

Here are some of the EXCITING things you’ll get to do:

1. Concept Development & Design Vision

• Drive early-stage exploration (sketches, 3D models, prototypes) to shape program direction.
• Translate consumer insights into compelling concepts.
• Deliver clear design story telling to align stakeholders.

1. Form Development & Craftsmanship

• Refine 3D forms for world-class aesthetics and usability.
• Balance design intent with engineering to create production-ready CAD.
• Evaluate prototypes with decisive feedback.
• Elevate craftsmanship in all tactile details.

1. Execution & DFM

• Apply DFM principles to production.
• Resolve tooling challenges with tooling engineers.
• Master materials including plastics, metals, glass, and soft goods, etc.
• Knowhow to balance the cost and design.

1. Research & Innovation

• Explore new trends, materials, and processes to advance design capability.
• Partner with global teams and suppliers to integrate innovation into future pipelines.
• Execute prototyping and experimentation that informs both concept feasibility and long-term strategy.

1. Collaboration & Leadership

• Partner with global design teams to ensure seamless integration of form, finish, and brand language.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align design with business goals.
• Mentor junior designers to elevate design critique and execution standards.

1. Design Excellence Management

• Conduct onsite sample reviews​ at major project milestones and drive solutions directly with supplier teams.
• Collaborate globally​ to align design targets and ensure they are met within project timelines.

1. Program management

• Lead the end-to-end execution of a design program, from initial concept through to final manufacturing.

You are Expected:

1. Experience:​ 5+ years in Industrial Design, with a proven track record of taking products from concept through mass production.

1. Languages:​ English and Mandarin. Fluent.

1. Core Design & Technical Skills:

• Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel).
• 3D modeling: Rhino and SolidWorks.
• Visual storytelling (KeyShot, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Knowledge of DFM and manufacture.

1. Professional & Behavioral Competencies:

• Resilient to outstanding design and user experience.
• A passion for precision craftsmanship.
• Strong communicator to influence suppliers.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Education/Certifications/Affiliations

• Education:​ Bachelor’s degree or above in Industrial Design.

Travel Requirements

• Be flexible for domestic and international travel.
