As a Senior Motion Designer, you will lead the creation of high-impact, platform-native video content across all social channels while helping define the motion language for the brand’s social presence. This role combines hands-on craft with creative leadership, guiding concept development, motion systems, and editorial direction for social-first storytelling.

You understand how content performs in-feed and how to capture attention instantly, but you also think beyond individual posts to shape scalable creative approaches across channels. You bring exceptional motion design craft, strong editorial instincts, and a deep understanding of platform culture.

You move quickly without sacrificing quality, mentor other designers, and help elevate the creative bar across the team. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in the fast pace of social media while contributing strategic thinking and creative leadership.

You Will

• Lead the concepting, design, editing, and animation of social-first video content across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
• Define and evolve the motion design language for social, ensuring consistency while allowing flexibility for platform-native execution.
• Develop scalable motion systems, templates, and graphic frameworks that enable the team to produce high-quality content at speed.
• Partner with art directors, copywriters, and marketing leads to translate campaign goals into compelling motion-driven storytelling.
• Mentor and provide feedback to junior designers, helping elevate craft, storytelling, and execution across the team.
• Apply advanced motion graphics, typography, sound design, and editorial techniques to maximize clarity, pacing, and engagement.
• Identify emerging platform trends and translate them into creative opportunities that align with brand strategy.
• Ensure deliverables meet platform specifications while maintaining a high standard of craft and brand consistency.
• Help refine workflows and creative processes that support high-volume production without sacrificing quality.

You Have

• 7+ years of professional experience in motion design, video editing, or social-first content creation.
• A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional motion craft and a strong understanding of short-form storytelling.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere and After Effects, with advanced knowledge of the broader Adobe Creative Cloud ecosystem.
• Deep understanding of motion fundamentals including timing, pacing, hierarchy, typography, and composition.
• Extensive experience creating content optimized for vertical and mobile-first viewing environments.
• Strong understanding of platform behaviors, trends, and audience expectations across major social channels.
• Advanced editorial instincts including pacing, music selection, and sound design.
• Experience developing motion systems, templates, or toolkits that enable scalable content production.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to lead creative discussions and mentor other designers.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.

Annual Salary Range

$184,820—$230,660 USD

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
