Your role:

Global Relay's enterprise applications have a substantial footprint in the messaging and archiving space for financial compliance. This is a senior role with real ownership, you'll be expected to define end-to-end experiences across multiple features and products, influence strategy, and set the quality standard for design across the teams you work with.

You are a highly experienced practitioner. You're the go-to authority for craft excellence, someone who mentors other senior designers, resolves conflicts, and acts as a lead, not because of a title, but because of how you work. You're proactive and expressive, not a process executor, and you operate as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders up to C-suite level.

This role specifically requires:

• Deep iOS expertise - recent, hands-on experience (within the last 4 years) designing for the Apple ecosystem, including iOS, iPadOS, macOS, CarPlay, and Apple Watch. You should be able to speak fluently about your mobile work and the decisions behind it.
• High-level stakeholder management - you'll be working regularly with C-suite and senior leadership, not just product and engineering. Influencing at that level is part of the job, not an occasional ask.
• Close collaboration with senior designers and project managers -  this role sits within a cross-functional team where design works shoulder-to-shoulder with other senior contributors. Knowing how to collaborate, challenge, and align at that level matters.

Your responsibilities:

• Define end-to-end experiences across multiple features or products, from problem framing through to delivery
• Lead design initiatives end-to-end, taking ownership of scope, approach, and quality of outcomes
• Act as a strategic partner to product management and senior stakeholders, shaping approaches, not just responding to requirements
• Advocate for users by deeply understanding their context, workflows, and challenges
• Apply research techniques that are right for the problem, and know when to use them
• Concept, prototype, validate, and present design solutions with clarity and conviction
• Translate solutions for developers in an agile environment, maintaining design integrity through delivery
• Produce sketches, flows, wireframes, and other artefacts appropriate to the stage
• Use and help identify metrics to inform product decisions and measure success
• Mentor senior designers and raise the design thinking capability of colleagues across the business
• Resolve design conflicts and help teams reach good decisions faster

About you:

• + 7+ years of UX design experience, operating at lead or principal level, defining experiences, influencing strategy, and setting quality standards across products

+ Recent, hands-on experience designing for the Apple ecosystem, iOS, iPadOS, macOS, CarPlay, Apple Watch, within the last 4 years, with strong knowledge of Apple's HIG and platform conventions

+ A portfolio that demonstrates your UX process and ability to drive solutions that work for real users, mobile and Apple platform work should be well represented

+ Proven ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders, including C-suite

+ Comfortable leading across cross-functional teams and collaborating closely with other senior designers and project managers

+ A track record of mentoring other designers and acting as a craft authority within a team

+ Excellent communication skills, written, verbal, and in the room

+ Ability to stay organised and make good decisions in a fast-moving environment

+ Solid understanding of web and native mobile technologies

+ Empathy, intellectual curiosity, and openness to learn the nuances of compliance in financial services

+ Enterprise environment experience is a strong asset

Employees are required to attend the office 4 days per week in accordance with Global Relay’s hybrid working policy.
