Role

As a software engineer for Developer Experience, you are in the prime position to supercharge our engineering productivity. We are a fast paced org with a rapidly increasing install base of on-prem hardware and software moving real hardware in real time. We heavily leverage cloud platforms for our robots’ compute needs. Shaping and testing our internal engineering environment using state of the art tooling is an exciting challenge we tackle every day.

How your work moves the mission forward

• Advance the buildout of Intrinsic's inner-loop infrastructure to develop, build, and test code. This is an opportunity to design and build a best-in-class developer infrastructure from the ground up, by integrating industry best practices with the latest advances in AI-powered development.
• Develop and evangelize best practices for building, packaging and deploying software for the next generation of robotics systems.

Skills you will need to be successful

• A degree in computer science or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience working as a software engineer or in software development
• Worked on a collaborative software project (10+ contributors) on a distributed VCS.
• Has contributed meaningfully to a project within one of  the following categories: build systems, CI/CD systems, code review, code search, or IDE integration/extensions.
• Experience with one of these coding languages: Golang, Python, Rust, and/or C++.

Skills that will differentiate your candidacy

• Experience with build systems (e.g. Blaze, Bazel, CMake, Ant, Maven, Gradle, Pants, …).
• Experience with distributed build farms (e.g. Buildbarn, Buildfarm, GCC CompileFarm, …).
• Experience with CI/CD systems (e.g. Jenkins, Travis, Circle CI, Spinnaker, Terraform).
• Experience with integrating IDEs (e.g. Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ, Eclipse, …) into developer infrastructure.
• Experience with GitHub-based custom infrastructure and workflows (monorepo setups are a plus).
• Experience with AI-based dev/build/test/review tools.
