Staff Data Scientist - Global AdTech, AI-Driven Media Optimization

The Growth Tech Alliance's goal is to enable HelloFresh to drive smarter marketing through AI-powered automation, intelligent systems, and advanced optimization. The Role...

We are hiring a Staff Data Scientist to take our AI capabilities to the next level by leading the evolution and scaling of our intelligent media optimization systems. You will provide technical leadership for our AI initiatives, architecting sophisticated multi-agent systems and ensuring robust ML model development for complex optimization challenges. As the dedicated technical leader for this domain, you will drive the maturation of our existing prototypes into production-grade systems while establishing best practices for ML operations and system observability. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of how HelloFresh leverages AI for marketing optimization at unprecedented scale.

What You'll Do...

• Scale and mature our AI-driven optimization capabilities by architecting production-grade multi-agent systems that orchestrate complex marketing workflows autonomously
• Advance our ML models for marketing optimization challenges including budget allocation, marginal efficiency modeling, and performance prediction, ensuring they meet the rigor required for billion-dollar decision making
• Establish comprehensive ML operations practices including experiment tracking, model versioning, and system observability to enable continuous improvement and reliable performance at scale
• Lead by example' by rapidly prototyping innovative machine learning solutions across diverse domains including customer value prediction, dynamic pricing optimization, generative AI applications, and emerging marketing intelligence use cases
• Define and evangelize best practices for AI system development, including agent design patterns, governance strategies, and quality assurance frameworks
• Drive the technical roadmap for evolving our AI capabilities from successful prototypes to enterprise-scale production systems with appropriate governance and monitoring
• Partner with marketing stakeholders to identify high-impact automation opportunities and translate business requirements into technical solutions that deliver measurable value

What You'll Bring...

• PhD / MSc in a quantitative discipline with proven experience taking AI/ML systems from prototype to production at scale
• Deep expertise in modern AI architectures including agent-based systems, LLM orchestration, and advanced prompt engineering for complex autonomous workflows
• Strong foundation in optimization theory and algorithms, with practical experience applying these to real-world business problems in marketing, pricing, or resource allocation domains
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate intricate analytical findings to diverse audiences, including technical experts and senior leadership.
• Track record of building production ML systems with robust MLOps practices, including comprehensive experiment tracking, model governance, and performance monitoring
• Experience with programmatic advertising ecosystems, marketing analytics, and the ability to translate business KPIs into technical optimization objectives
• Expert-level software engineering skills with modern ML frameworks and the ability to build reliable, scalable systems that handle real-time decision making
• Experience with cloud-native architectures, micro-services, and the operational aspects of running ML systems in production
• Proven technical leadership with the ability to drive consensus on architectural decisions, establish technical standards, and elevate team capabilities through mentorship and knowledge sharing
