Business Development Director, Real-World Insights
Location – US remote
Inizio Medical, brings together individuals with unique experience across corporate communications, medical affairs, market access, patient engagement, digital innovation, data science and analytics, and publications to provide fully integrated strategic support across biopharma and life sciences.
We’ve seen robust growth on our Real-World iNSIGHTS team and have a fantastic new opportunity for a Director of Business Development as part of MEDiSTRAVA Specialised Services (part of Inizio Medical).
The Role
We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Business Development Director, to lead new business growth focused for our Real-World iNSIGHTS programs. The successful candidate will identify, pursue, and win new business opportunities; build strong relationships with pharmaceutical/biotech clients; and help position the agency as a trusted partner for medical insight gathering and HCP engagement
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities among pharma/biotech companies needing real-world evidence, medical writing, publication planning, medical affairs support, or full-service med-comms
- Client engagement & relationship building: cultivate relationships with key decision-makers understand their needs, and position the agency’s services accordingly
- Proposal development & pitching: lead development of tailored proposals, RFP responses and pitch presentations for real-world insights
- Strategic planning: contribute to the agency’s business-development strategy by tracking market trends, analyzing the competitive landscape, and identifying whitespace opportunities — especially in real-world evidence/ real-world insights space
- Cross-functional collaboration: work with scientific strategy, medical-writing, creative, publications, and account teams to ensure proposals and delivery align with client needs and agency capabilities
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MPH, MS, PharmD) strongly preferred
- Extensive experience in business development roles within medical communications, healthcare communications, pharmaceutical communications agency
- Experience in client-facing and opinion leader-facing roles, pharma sponsored HCP engagements is essential, previous experience with CME and/or third-party medical insight gathering preferred
- Demonstrable track record of generating new business, leading pitches / RFPs, building long-term client relationships and meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, able to engage senior client stakeholders
- Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen able to understand market trends, client needs, competitive environment, and translate them into opportunity
- Scientific literacy or familiarity with life-sciences / healthcare (therapeutic areas, clinical development, medical affairs)

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations.
