Get to Know Our Team

The Data department oversees all of Agoda’s data-related requirements. Our ultimate goal is to enable and increase the use of data in the company through creative approaches and the implementation of powerful resources such as operational and analytical databases, queue systems, BI tools, and data science technology. The role the Data team plays at Agoda is critical as business users, product managers, engineers, and many others rely on us to empower their decision making. The Opportunity

This role is a 6-month contract based in Bangkok, Thailand, and the candidate who succeeds will be assigned to the projects.

As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will have the exciting opportunity to design and develop data and BI solutions that drive Agoda’s analytics capabilities. In this role, you’ll collaborate across diverse functional teams to ensure our data and solutions truly meet business analytic needs. You’ll work closely with engineering teams responsible for Agoda’s products and applications, ensuring that all critical data is accurately tracked and logged with the highest quality standards.

This position focuses on Rocket Travel by Agoda’s data, giving you the chance to work on impactful projects and collaborate with teams from different backgrounds and expertise. In This Role, You’ll Get to

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand their data and reporting requirements, ensuring solutions align with business objectives.
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure that all critical data from Agoda’s products and applications is accurately captured and maintained.
• Design, develop, and enhance dashboards and reports that provide valuable insights and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
• Implement and uphold data quality processes to ensure information is accurate, complete, and available when needed.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of team processes, helping to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.
• Participate in key projects, such as migrating data from legacy systems to new platforms, to support the creation of a unified and reliable data source for Agoda and Rocket Travel by Agoda.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply, preferably less than 2-year experience
• Proficiency in basic SQL, with the ability to write queries and work with large datasets.
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English within a professional setting, facilitating smooth collaboration with colleagues from different teams and diverse backgrounds.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and reliability.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Willing to adjust working hours, including starting early or finishing late, to participate in meetings across different time zones sometimes.

It’s Great If You Have

• Experience or knowledge in Business Intelligence, data warehouse concepts, or familiarity with tools such as Tableau, Metabase, SQL Server, Vertica, Hadoop, or MSDT.
• Skills in Python programming, which can support more advanced data analysis and automation tasks.
