While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.

The International Communications team leads Coinbase’s external communications across key global markets, shaping media narratives that support market expansion, regulatory progress, and business growth. This role sits at the centre of high-impact international storytelling, driving earned media, supporting executive visibility, and coordinating closely with Policy, Legal, Product, and regional leaders to ensure clear, consistent, and strategically aligned communications in complex and fast-moving environments.

What you’ll be doing:

• Drive international earned media and narrative execution

+ Lead proactive and reactive media strategies across priority global markets, securing high-impact coverage around regulatory milestones, product launches, executive visibility, and key corporate moments.

• Support executive and market communications

+ Partner with senior leaders and regional stakeholders to shape clear, consistent messaging tailored to local regulatory, policy, and market dynamics. Prepare executives for media, speaking engagements, and strategic announcements.

• Manage cross-functional and agency execution

+ Work closely with policy, legal, product, and regional teams to deliver coordinated communications programs. Oversee PR agencies, drive media relationships, and ensure disciplined execution against strategic priorities.

What we look for in you:

• Strong international communications experience

+ 5+ years of experience with a proven track record delivering earned media and strategic communications in global markets, ideally within fintech, crypto, financial services, or a highly regulated environment.

• Exceptional media judgment and execution

+ Strong understanding of news cycles, messaging discipline, and reputation management, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-moving and sensitive situations.

• Cross-functional influence and stakeholder management

+ Ability to partner with senior leaders and multiple internal teams, manage complexity across regions, and deliver clear, consistent narratives across diverse markets.

• AI Fluency

+ Demonstrates the ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots (e.g., LibreChat, Gemini, Glean) in daily workflows, continuously learn as tools evolve, and apply human-in-the-loop practices to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.

Nice to haves:

• Experience supporting regulatory or policy-driven communications

+ Background working on communications linked to licensing, regulatory milestones, or government engagement.

• Familiarity with global crypto and financial markets

+ Understanding of digital assets, institutional adoption, and evolving regulatory frameworks across key international regions.

• Experience managing international PR agencies and multi-market campaigns

+ Track record of coordinating agencies and delivering communications programs across multiple geographies.

Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual base salary for this position can range as detailed below. Total compensation mayalso include equity and bonus eligibility and benefits (including medical, dental, and vision).

Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus):

$159,700—$159,700 AUD
