IT Leader (Internal IT)

Nethermind builds and secures core Ethereum infrastructure, developing the Nethermind execution client and contributing to network upgrades, rollups, zero-knowledge systems and cross-chain architecture. Their security team audits smart contracts, ZK circuits and off-chain components and provides formal verification for critical systems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise the Internal IT Department: Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Security, IAM and FinOps.
• Drive company-wide infrastructure initiatives and co-define strategy and roadmap with the CIO.
• People management: staffing, mentoring, performance reviews and raising the technical bar.
• Maintain communication with C-level executives and group leads to eliminate DevOps silos.
• Act as primary point of contact for internal IT matters and coordinate resource allocation with the CIO.
• Adapt and govern AI tooling and agentic workflows across the organisation.
• Support hiring, sourcing, interviewing and evaluating candidates; conduct monthly performance reviews using Rippling.

Requirements:

• 5+ years in a management role leading and scaling IT/infrastructure/platform engineering teams.
• Strong background in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and DevOps/SRE practices.
• Hands-on understanding of infrastructure security, IAM, and FinOps.
• Experience translating compliance/audit requirements (SOC2, ISO 27001, etc.) into operational controls.
• Experience with security incident response and threat modelling, including supply-chain/adversarial scenarios.
• Excellent people management and communication skills for C-level and non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable operating in a fully remote, async-first, globally distributed environment.

Nice to have:

• Experience in the blockchain / Web3 / crypto ecosystem.
• Familiarity with multi-cloud and hybrid architectures (AWS, OVH) at scale.
• Experience running self-hosted / sovereign infrastructure and productizing internal platforms.
• Hands-on FinOps tooling experience and large-scale cost optimisation; track record with AI/ML and agent infrastructure.
