Solutions Engineer (internally being called Implementation Engineer)

As an Implementation Engineer, you are the technical bridge between Adyen and our merchants. This is a hybrid role: we are looking for a technical-first professional who is eager to grow into a strategic, merchant-facing consultant. You will guide technical teams through the design and launch phases of their integrations, starting with our core web-based solutions. By leveraging your technical foundation, you will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth implementation process and maintaining open lines of communication with our merchants and internal teams.

What You’ll Do

• Utilize development and programming expertise to create scalable and robust solutions for merchant integrations, while ensuring adherence to payment best practices.
• Serve as a consultative partner in specific verticals such as e-commerce, point of sale, and multi-faceted platforms, guiding merchants through integration processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Account Managers, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver seamless merchant experiences and drive continuous improvements.
• Leverage project management and technical consulting skills to oversee high-quality project delivery, guaranteeing the technical integrity of merchant integrations.
• Provide consultation on optimizing payment solutions, including checkout experiences, authentication, omni-channel payments, and platform onboarding, while collaborating with Developers and Product Managers to enhance the platform. Deliver seamless merchant experiences and drive continuous improvements.

Who You Are

• Technical Foundation: You have a solid understanding of REST APIs and web technologies (e.g., JavaScript/HTML). You are comfortable reading and troubleshooting code to identify root causes and technical blockers.
• Learning Agility: You are a proactive learner with a high learning velocity, demonstrated by your ability to quickly grasp complex technical documentation and master new product logic.
• Consultative Potential: You are eager to transition from a technical focus into a hybrid, merchant-facing role. You possess the empathy and communication skills necessary to act as a trusted advisor for our merchants.
• Adyen Formula Fit: You are a collaborative team player who prioritizes long-term impact over ego. You communicate with transparency and integrity, "talking straight" to ensure we build ethical and sustainable solutions for our merchants. • Languages: Excellent written and spoken business English and Spanish.
