As Benefits Specialist, you’ll help bring these values to life by ensuring our team members feel informed, supported, and cared for.
What You Will Do
Benefits Administration & Employee Support
- Administer medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and voluntary benefits programs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and concerns.
- Provide timely, accurate, and empathetic support to employees and their families.
- Manage employee enrollments, status changes, terminations, and qualifying life events.
- Coordinate and administer open enrollment processes.
- Assist employees with claims issues and act as liaison with carriers when needed.
- Maintain accurate records within HRIS and benefits platforms.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure benefits administration complies with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and Hawaiʻi-specific regulations.
- Support leave of absence (LOA) and accommodation tracking in partnership with Employee Relations.
- Maintain organized documentation and reporting related to benefits administration.
- Assist with benefits audits and data requests as needed.
Vendor & Internal Coordination
- Communicate with benefits carriers and vendors to ensure timely processing and issue resolution.
- Coordinate closely with HR and Finance to ensure accurate payroll deductions and reporting.
- Support employee education efforts by clearly communicating plan details and changes.
This role requires precision, confidentiality, and a genuine commitment to service.
What You Bring
Experience
- 3–5+ years of experience in benefits administration or total rewards with a benefits focus.
- Knowledge of federal and Hawaiʻi-specific benefits compliance requirements.
- Experience managing open enrollment cycles and employee benefits communications.
- Proficiency with HRIS and benefits platforms.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.

Employment at Alpha Inc. is contingent upon:
• Completion of standard pre-employment screening.

• Passing a drug test (for both full-time and part-time hires) conducted in line with Hawaiʻi statutory requirements.
