Lead Engineer - Tokenization

Contract / Full-Time / Company: Gyld Finance

Gyld Finance builds the infrastructure to bring fixed income on-chain, issuing tokenized USD corporate bonds backed 1:1 by underlying securities held with regulated custodians and brokers. The core platform — broker and custody integrations, order execution, settlement, reconciliation and on-chain compliance — is already built and approaching launch.

Responsibilities:

• Own and improve systems that place broker orders, process fills, settle trades and reconcile positions and cash.
• Build for failure cases: partial fills, rejected orders, stale states, settlement breaks, retries and reconciliation mismatches.
• Work across broker, custodian, banking and crypto rails as they intersect with trading and settlement.
• Ensure internal ledger, custodian positions and on-chain supply remain consistent.
• Own production services in a Rust-based architecture; improve reliability, observability, monitoring and alerting.
• Strengthen CI/CD, testing, deployment safety and database migration practices; diagnose and resolve production incidents.
• Maintain and evolve systems connecting off-chain securities and cash movements with on-chain issuance and redemption, including compliance and transfer controls.

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience building trading, order management or execution systems.
• Experience owning production systems where correctness and reliability matter.
• Strong backend and systems engineering fundamentals.
• Rust experience preferred; strong experience in another systems language and ability to ramp into Rust is acceptable.
• Comfort with databases, distributed systems, APIs and asynchronous/event-driven architectures.
• Working knowledge of blockchain and on-chain settlement concepts (deep smart-contract expertise not required).
• Comfortable using AI coding agents as part of the everyday engineering workflow and able to operate autonomously in a small team.

Nice to have:

• Built execution or post-trade infrastructure at a broker, exchange, trading firm or fintech.
• Operated systems that move meaningful amounts of money.
• Experience with broker, custodian or exchange APIs and handling edge cases around orders, settlement and reconciliation.
• Experience connecting traditional financial infrastructure with blockchain systems.
