Role

We are looking for a Seasoned Engineering Manager to join the ZPA Clientless Platform & App Protection team. This is a hybrid role based in Hyderabad, reporting to the Director of Engineering, ZPA Browser Access Privileged Remote Access and App Protection team. You’ll lead a team of 10–16 software engineers building the world's largest cloud security platform from the ground up. You will drive the vision and roadmap for ZPA Clientless Platform & App Protection, aligning our multitenant architecture with global organizational goals and ensuring speed and agility for millions of users worldwide.

What you’ll do (Role Expectations)

• Lead a team of 10–16 software engineers, managing performance and personal career progression for all direct reports
• Drive the vision and roadmap for the ZPA Clientless Platform & App Protection, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices
• Deliver high-quality, reliable microservices and highly distributed solutions while ensuring overall system reliability
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize security to maintain high availability for critical cloud systems
• Collaborate with product managers and other engineering leaders to translate technical goals into measurable business results

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• 9+ years of engineering leadership experience, including 3+ years managing global teams across the entire SDLC
• 10+ years of hands-on development experience with networking and systems software, specifically TCP/IP, SSL, and HTTPS
• Deep knowledge of distributed software architectures, cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure), and system monitoring solutions
• Proven ability to lead teams in delivering highly distributed solutions using multi-language ecosystems like C, Go, Java, and JavaScript
• Skilled at partnering with product management to turn technical vision into impactful execution

• A consistent track record of taking ownership and delivering high-quality results in a predictable fashion
• Strong advocacy for modern practices including DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automation-based delivery within large engineering organizations
