Purpose
Own and grow strategic relationships with key aerospace and defense prime contractors by executing account strategies that drive new program insertions, revenue growth, and long-term customer engagement aligned with Divergent’s commercial priorities.
The Role
The Principal, Strategic Accounts owns assigned prime contractor accounts and executes account strategies aligned to the A&D commercial strategy. This role is accountable for relationship depth, opportunity progression, and program insertion across customer programs. This role provides direct exposure to major defense primes, advanced manufacturing, and real production programs.
Basic Qualifications
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
- Own assigned prime contractor relationships
- Execute account growth strategies aligned to commercial priorities
- Drive opportunity progression and program insertion
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as working-level owner for assigned accounts
- Build and maintain multi-year account plans
- Lead opportunity shaping and customer engagement
- Partner with capture, engineering, and operations on pursuits
- Maintain disciplined CRM hygiene and forecasting
- Communicate Voice of the Customer internally
SUCCESS METRICS
- Revenue and pipeline growth within assigned accounts
- Multiple new program insertions annually
- High-quality CRM and forecasting discipline
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
- Not a people-management role
- Not transactional sales
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using multiple CRMs, including Salesforce.
Work Environment
- This position will primarily be based in our Torrance, CA office. Remote working may be considered for the right candidate.
Compensation
At Divergent, our pay range is based on the level of the job. For this role, we will consider candidates at level S07 $179,610 - $246,960 as evaluated through our interview process.
