Overview
This is not a SaaS sales role, and it is not a transactional services role.
We are seeking a hungry, consultative business development leader who has built their career inside high-end digital product consultancies, strategy and experience agencies, engineering-led consultancies, or boutique high-signal studios. You understand how complex, custom digital work is sold — not as a commodity, but as a strategic partnership. You don't wait for leads to come to you. You create pipelines from scratch, pursue the right relationships with intention, and thrive on the chase.
You have led bespoke, multi-stakeholder pursuits where problem definition is part of the sale. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, shaping opportunities alongside design and engineering leaders, and earning executive trust through insight — not just process.
As a Senior Business Development Executive, you will own relationships from first conversation through long-term expansion. You will position VGV as a strategic partner to product and technology leaders facing meaningful transformation, modernization, or innovation initiatives.
If your background is primarily license-based selling, pure quota-carrying AE roles in SaaS, or staff augmentation–driven services sales, this role will not be a fit.
What You’ll Do
You will be responsible for building and expanding a portfolio of high-value consulting engagements by:
- Leveraging and growing your network within product, design, and technology leadership circles
- Leading full-cycle, consultative sales pursuits for complex digital product and platform initiatives
- Helping shape client problems, not just responding to predefined RFPs
- Partnering closely with VGV design and engineering leaders to define scope, craft solutions, and articulate differentiated value
- Selling multidisciplinary engagements that may span strategy, product design, and advanced engineering
- Building long-term client relationships that lead to repeat business, trusted advisor status, and account expansion
- Positioning VGV against top-tier consultancies and agencies, not commodity vendors
Who This Role Is For
This role is designed for someone who has grown their career inside environments such as:
- Digital product and engineering consultancies
- Strategy, design, and experience agencies
- Enterprise and transformation consultancies
- Boutique, high-signal studios known for craft, innovation, and complex delivery
You likely have:
- Sold custom digital solutions and consulting engagements, not off-the-shelf software or packaged services
- Led bespoke pursuits where discovery, framing, and solution design were part of the sales process
- Worked hand-in-hand with design, product, and engineering leaders to scope and price complex initiatives
- Built credibility with senior product, technology, and innovation leaders
- Grown accounts through insight, trust, and delivery outcomes — not just renewals or seat expansion

The initial annual base salary for this position is expected to range from $120k-$130k. We benchmark every role based on location and against comparable companies to ensure competitiveness; however, actual compensation is highly dependent on numerous factors such as location, experience, knowledge and skills, qualifications and other job-related factors.
