Сопроводительное письмо
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Engineering Manager position for the Firefox Desktop OMC team. With over five years of experience leading distributed engineering teams and a deep background in web technologies like React and JavaScript, I have consistently delivered high-impact user experiences while fostering a culture of technical excellence and inclusivity.
What draws me to Mozilla is your unwavering commitment to the open web and user privacy. In my previous roles, I have successfully navigated the complexities of cross-functional collaboration with Product and UX teams to ship sophisticated messaging systems. I am particularly excited about the opportunity to lead the OMC team in experimenting with in-product communication to drive user engagement and value within the Firefox ecosystem.
I am a firm believer in servant leadership and am passionate about mentoring engineers to reach their full potential. My experience in managing geographically distributed teams aligns perfectly with Mozilla's global community. I look forward to the possibility of bringing my expertise in engineering processes and product-minded leadership to help shape the next 25 years of Firefox.

About this team and role:
The Firefox team is a global community of engineers who care deeply about delivering the fastest, friendliest, most usable browser possible. We are responsible for making the things you see in the browser work securely, quickly, and well! Working in the open is the norm, and we contribute to the code driving the Firefox browser on a number of desktop platforms - Windows, Linux, and macOS. Our focus is on implementing and fixing things in Firefox as well as helping other teams make it excellent for our users.
The Firefox Onboarding Messaging and Communication (OMC) Frontend Engineering Manager leads a geographically distributed team across North American time zones responsible for Firefox’s in-product messaging surfaces. The OMC team owns the messaging system that helps onboard new users and keeps existing users informed about new features and capabilities within the browser. In close partnership with Product, the team experiments with message content and orchestration to deliver thoughtful, well-timed experiences that improve engagement and user value. We’re looking for a leader who excels at building strong teams, driving technical excellence, and shaping innovative user experiences that influence how people interact with the web.
Feel good about your work again! Pursue your future while working to protect the future of the internet for everyone, everywhere.
What you’ll do:
- Drive initiatives to deliver value to our users via Messaging and features across Firefox while ensuring the software your team delivers is high quality, monitored, and maintainable.
- Help the team navigate trade-offs and drive alignment in a fast-paced, evolving field; balancing quick delivery with thoughtful, long-term approaches across a portfolio of Messaging experiences in the browser.
- Communicate your team’s goals, the scope and risks of your projects, and own the delivery of initiatives on clear timelines.
- Identify, build and iterate on engineering processes that support a high performing team.
- Engage regularly 1-1 with your team to discuss both technical work and professional development; provide direct and honest feedback about their individual performances
- Lead hiring efforts
- Ensure developers are properly supported and empowered throughout the developer lifecycle.
- Create an inclusive environment which engages and challenges your team members.

What you’ll bring:
- 4+ years leading engineers in a software development environment and working across multiple distributed teams.
- Software engineering background that empowers you to drive technical decisions within the team and engage with engineers at all levels of seniority to triage, prioritize and implement.
- Solid understanding of web technologies (JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS)
- Proven track record successfully leading and shipping sophisticated user facing experiences on time in a loosely structured environment.
- Strong communication and ability to develop positive relationships with others, regardless of their rank or role.
- Passion to resolve problems, manage risk, lead change, and facilitate collaborative decision-making.
- Experience effectively communicating with senior leadership and advocating for engineering priorities.
- Desire to grow and learn as a manager, grow and develop others, and get results through others rather than personal technical proficiency.
- Able to hire, mentor, empower, develop, and delegate to geographically distributed team members with different skills from your own.
- Commitment to our values:
- Welcoming differences
- Being relationship-minded
- Practicing responsible participation
- Having grit
