As a Senior Data Engineering Consultant, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering modern data solutions that drive business insight and innovation. You’ll implement scalable, high-performing cloud architectures that support analytics, AI, and operational excellence. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in Databricks, Fabric, and Azure data services, along with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for business and technical stakeholders alike.

You’ll be responsible for technical delivery, authoring solution documentation, and ensuring data pipelines and models meet enterprise standards for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. The ideal candidate  combines deep technical acumen with a consulting mindset — results-oriented, curious, adaptable, and driven to deliver meaningful outcomes for clients.

Responsibilities

• Technical delivery in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies 

• Leverage advanced database systems including data warehouses, data marts, and models needed for business, financial and operational analysis and/or reporting. 

• Develop high performing, reliable and scalable solutions.

• Conduct data profiling, quality checks, and performance tuning for reliability and efficiency.

• Ability to clearly communicate technical details to business and management personnel.

• Perform data analysis that will support and enhance Information Management systems.

• Author, oversee and gain approval of design documents for projects assigned.

• Work independently or as part of a team to design and develop solutions.

• Provide meaningful feedback and coaching of other team members to successfully overcome technological challenges.

• Expand your knowledge in multiple tools and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree desired in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience implementing cloud data solutions, preferably on Azure.

• Expertise delivering cloud-based data solutions using Databricks and/or Fabric.

• Proven ability to implement modern data architectures (data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouses).

• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, and data engineering frameworks.

• Experience using AI tools to enhance and expedite delivery. 

• Experience optimizing data pipelines and queries for performance and cost.

• You’re results oriented and have a reputation for getting things done.

• You have a growth mindset and have a deep desire to continue to improve your skills.

• You’re comfortable in fast paced environments.

• You have a strong sense of responsibility for a project’s success.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in Agile or Waterfall settings.

• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to simplify complex concepts for business stakeholders.

3Cloud offers competitive compensation. In addition to base pay employees are eligible to receive an annual discretionary/utilization bonus. If you are hired at 3Cloud your final base salary is based on factors such as skills, education, experience and/or geographic location. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above includes the full base salary range for the role. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range.

Base Salary Range

$103,100—$154,700 USD
